Roberto Romano and Wies Mobach are an artist duo whose collaborative practice explores the fragile boundary between reality and simulation. United by a shared fascination with perception, representation, and the emotional charge of images, they create works that question how we see—and how we are seen—in an increasingly mediated world.
Merging Roberto’s poetic approach to 3D animation and filmmaking with Wies’ tactile sensibility rooted in ceramics and spatial design, their films function as both visual experiences and conceptual terrains. Sculpting with light, time, and rhythm, they compose immersive worlds that invite contemplation, discomfort, and resonance.
Their work probes the mediated self, the aesthetics of fracture, and the quiet metaphysics of image culture—raising questions around visibility, embodiment, and what it means to be real when experience is increasingly filtered through digital systems.
